What a year! More has happened in 2010 than anything else I could have imagined. I can honestly say I've crossed off a few bucket list items. Well, maybe not bucket list, but it's sure a great feeling to have accomplished what I did this year. First, I really made an effort to start blogging more, and that is what primarily led to greater things. I started KendrickColeman.com back in 2009 and completed a total of 13 posts. Ya, only 13! This year in 2010 I've done 88 posts including this one. Perhaps in 2011 I'll hit that triple digit mark. I still want to only create posts that will add value to an admin's life because who really needs another blog about VMware patches and releases?
Here are the Top 10 blog posts of 2010:
10. VM Advanced ISO. Free Tools For Advanced Tasks
9. Issues with Consolidate Helper- 0 Snapshot
8. Error Upgrading VMware Tools vSphere 4.1

1. A List of FREE VMware vSphere Tools
This whole social media thing really pays off. I was lucky enough to be chosen as a 2010 VMware vExpert and that is a badge I wear proudly. Thanks to blogging and an invitation from my pal, David Davis, I joined him in the VMworld tour talking about Free vSphere Tools. Having the opportunity to speak in front of hundreds of folks numerous times was a true honor. Being a part of this gave me the chance to travel to Europe for the first time and visit Copenhagen. I really wish my wife could have come with me, but I'm sure this wasn't my last trip to Europe.
Thank you once again to everyone that came to our session. Hopefully, David and I can do a Free Tools part Duex at VMworld 2011! VMworld wasn't only a great experience of presenting, but networking with all the folks I talk with on twitter everyday. I finally shook hands and drank beers with some of the top guys in the industry and that is something worth noting.
Being interactive in the social media realm and blogging gave me the opportunity to take a giant leap in my career. I joined VCE as a vArchitect back in November and it's been an awesome ride so far. Every day is packed with loads of information that needs a full week to digest. The best days, are when I get to enlighten people on Vblock and what it really means for their company. Vblock is a truly innovative idea that is transforming IT to think differently and I'm glad I get to be a part of it.
Lastly, the greatest thing that happened to me this year was my wedding. I met my wife back in college when we worked for eCampus.com and we became work buds. A few years passed without talking and then one day I noticed on facebook that she moved back to Louisville from Cincinnati. We went out a few times and 3 short years later, we're now married. I'm truly blessed to have a beautiful and caring wife. Atleast I know she loves me because I can't leave for a work trip without hearing how sad she is going to be.
I'm thrilled to be where I'm at in my life and I'm looking forward to where 2011 will take us. Oh yeah, and we can't forget the adoption of our puppy Walter for 2010!
